NWHC Sunday Social Mixed Hockey sessions are back! They take place every Sunday, at Dorcan Recreation Complex, 10.45am meet for an 11.00am start.
The sessions run throughout the year with just a few weeks off for Christmas and Easter etc.
These are relaxed and friendly sessions with two main aims:
- To provide an introduction to hockey for any one, of any age, male and female.
- To provide a Back to Hockey opportunity for any ex-players who are thinking about a return to the game, maybe at a less stressful level initially.
Don’t forget the qualifications; you must be of any age, male or female.
In keeping with the relaxed, fun ethos, no coaching takes place at these sessions although advice is always available. The aim is to turn up, have some fun, get some exercise and finish with a smile on your face. As you will find skills appearing your confidence will improve. At this stage you may wish to also come along to our formal coaching sessions which take place on Tuesday evenings.
Social Hockey sessions are open to newcomers, existing members and ex-members of the club, all are welcome, regardless of skill level. If you don’t have a stick, no problem, we have spare sticks which you can borrow.
The Social Hockey sessions runs alongside our Juniors Coaching sessions; some parents find it works well to drop their children off at the Juniors Coaching session and join us to play in the Social Hockey session. Our junior sessions generally run during term times. Check our calendar or contact us for more information.
The cost is only £3 per person.
Existing club members: spread the word, bring a friend or two, preferably with a sense of humour, although this is optional!
